Niche Marketing Expands Your affiliate marketing online business
If you’re at all familiar with the term “niche marketing,” you probably know that this simply means you focus your marketing efforts on one narrow area of a service or product. As an example, infant care is a major market, and reusable diapers would be a niche market of that more major market.
If you yourself are in affiliate marketing online business and you want to cultivate more profits, niche marketing may be your answer. One big advantage to niche marketing is that you have the opportunity to become dominant within your particular niche.
You’re focusing on just one area of business, so your competition field naturally shrinks. If you are selling reusable diapers, your consumers will necessarily be concerned parents who are also concerned about the environment at the same time. They want quality products for their babies, and they’re not interested in contributing to landfill usage. Therefore, any of your disposable competitors have suddenly been removed from your field of competition.
Because you focus on one small area of business, you very much reduce your competition. If you are selling reusable diapers, for example, you have as your customers those who are concerned both about their babies and about the environment. They want a quality product that is not going to contribute to landfill garbage as it would if they used disposable diapers. This means, as well, it that you’ve removed a large area of competition, namely that of disposable diapers.
Now, it may be tempting to expand your focus beyond your chosen niche, but this is probably a mistake; for one, you may be driven by greed, which is a mistake with any business venture. Number two, though, if you try to expand, it’s very likely that you’re going to confuse your customer base and maybe even drive customers away. For example, if you try to expand into the area of disposable diapers, you’re going to alienate those customers who chose you specifically because you DIDN’T make disposable diapers, but focused on the more environmentally friendly alternative of reusable diapers. This is going to cause you to lose a large percentage of your customer base, not gain more customers. In addition, it’s not likely that you going to gain a lot of customers within the disposable diaper market, either. Those people are more likely to go shopping locally, where it’s more convenient, instead of having disposable diapers shipped to them.
In addition, if you exclusively sell reusable diapers, you can become an expert in this particular niche. This means that you can write reports on the benefits of using reusable diapers, from savings in cost to favorable environmental impact. People will read these reports or articles and see you as an expert in reusable diapers. Clients will come to you for advice, and will likely buy your product as well. In addition, an article or report on reusable diapers will give you much more benefit than a simple advertisement would.
By selling non disposable diapers exclusively, you can also write reports on the benefits of using the product. Once these are out and people have read your views, you instantly become an expert in your chosen field. You would become known as the non disposable diaper, and those interested in that product would flock to you for advice, and guidance in choosing the correct diaper for their children’s tush’s. An article or report on your niche will reap you big rewards compared to a simple advertisement.
