How To Build Link Popularity Immediately

by Hayden Linoturn

Link popularity is important to your website receiving the maximum amount of traffic. This is because the search engines, like Google, Yahoo and MSN look for other websites linking to your website to help determine how popular your website is. The more outside websites that link to your website, the higher your link popularity is and therefore the more traffic you will receive from the search engines.

Building link popularity is easy enough, and there are both for fee and for free ways to do so. As a beginner, you want to start with the free methods. This is important so that you know how things work. A foundation of understanding is important so you can later train outsourcers.

One way to begin building your link popularity is with blogs. Not your own blog, but by using other people’s blogs. It’s a simple process that you can begin right now to increase you backlinks.

What you want to do is go to Google. At the top is a link to blogs. Click that. Then enter a term related to the website you want to build links for. Then, you’ll go to each of the sites that come up in the results.

Most blogs have an option to leave a comment after their articles. You will read the article and ensure that it is, in fact, about your topic. Then you will leave a comment on the article.

In the comment area, there are usually three areas to fill out. These are Name, URL and email address. Make sure the URL field has your complete website URL in it so you actually get a link from the blog you are posting a comment on.

Then, for your comment itself. You do not want to spam the blog you are posting a comment on. That is, don’t just leave a promo for your own site. It will most likely be deleted.

What’s important is to ensure that the comment you leave is actually interesting and contributes to the conversation already going on at the blog. Saying something nice about what the blog author wrote is always a good idea, people love compliments. You can even take part in discussion that’s already going on with other people that have left comments.

After your well thought out and interesting comment is written, post it. There are some blogs where your comment will show up right away. Others will make the blog owner approve the comment first, and you may get a notice that your post is in the moderation queue.

Head on back over to Google blog search and visit each one that you found on your keyword. You need to leave comments on as many as you can find that are actually about your website niche. This is because the more places your leave your link, the more backlinks you get.

This is simple enough for even the most beginning internet marketer to do. What’s more, if you do it on a fairly repetitive schedule, your links will build slowly over time. All the while increasing your rank.
